Aureus Asset Management, has appointed Thad Davis as chief executive and president.
Karen Firestone, the firm’s co-founder who was previously chair and CEO, has become executive chair.
Davis joined Aureus in 2005 when the firm was founded, holding the post of co-portfolio manager of its core equity strategy. Prior to joining Aureus, Davis worked at Bear Stearns Asset Management where he was a vice president responsible for research and managing small and large-cap value equity portfolios. Davis earned his BA from Harvard College, his MBA from NYU’s Stern School of Business, and is a CFA charterholder.
Proskauer
International law firm Proskauer has appointed Christiana Lazo as a partner in its private client services department.
Lazo received her bachelor of arts from Columbia College, Columbia University, her JD from Columbia Law School and her LLM in taxation from New York University. She is a member of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel.
“Christi is an important strategic addition to Proskauer. Her experience in transfer tax structuring for fund managers and family offices is unmatched. Our domestic and international asset management clients will benefit greatly from her expertise and trusted counsel,” Tim Mungovan, chair of Proskauer, said.
